Two runners on a trail running together

Two things have to line up

Most running apps match you on where you live. That is why the runs never happen. Run Bud matches on when you run and how fast, because those are the two things that actually decide whether two people meet at a trailhead.

Set your week once

The days you run, which are hard, which is your long one. Change a single week without touching the pattern.

Give a pace range

A range, not a number. Wider means more people. You are never matched with someone who would drop you.

Ask one person

first to accept has it

Send one ask to whoever fits that morning. Somebody confirms, and the two of you sort out the rest.

Why we open one city at a time

A matching app with three people in it is worse than no app. We hold a city closed until enough runners there share days and paces that a search comes back with real names, then we open it to everyone at once.

That is the only thing the waitlist is for. Your zip tells us where the runners already are.
